Melissa Cohen

Court Diversion Case Coordinator

As an artist, I have a passion for seeing beauty in those things that are rooted in us. Growing up in Vermont, it took more than a few moves and experiences in New England to realize the gratitude I have for this wonderful place. I have found my grounding in Burlington after managing a woman’s recovery house for two years and by exploring the growing recovery community here. During that time, I transitioned from a barista at Healthy living Market & Cafe to a Supervisor, and gained so much experience in hospitality, collaboration, and of course, good food! I have also developed my Motivational Interviewing skills and have lived experience with restorative justice. In my free time I really enjoy volunteering, painting, silent nature walks with my camera, and spending time with my family. I am so excited to be part of the family at the CJC and to help advance opportunities for restorative processes in the Burlington Community!
